Unique Therapy Offerings
We offer innovative and extensive programs and opportunities for self-exploration, self-expression, and the development of a meaningful and worthwhile lifestyle for each individual in our programs.
We believe that individuals with eating disorders are unique, creative, caring, and sensitive people who may struggle to find a connection with their true inner spirit. To recover from an eating disorder, the person must develop a sense of their own individual spirit and self, and a belief that their emotions are valid, important, and worth noticing.
On their unique path to recovery, clients are encouraged to choose to redefine life in terms which are of true value and meaning to them, rather than as a response to cultural pressures to pursue a body size and shape that denies their physical and personal needs. Health of mind and body will begin to evolve as one's unique and individual sense of self begins to emerge. It is at this point that true healing can begin.
Our staff is carefully selected for their compassionate nature and clinical competence. Many of our staff members have experienced their own struggle and recovery success with an eating disorder and thus bring a unique perspective in providing compassionate care. The program is led by a comprehensive team of experts including a physician (internist), a psychiatrist, a registered dietitian with her Ph.D. in nutritional biochemistry, an endocrinologist, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, registered nurses, and resident assistants. We also have highly-qualified individuals specializing in yoga, massage, equine therapy, art, and other health and recreational areas for a truly rounded experience.
Equine Therapy
Equine assisted therapy involves working through horse-related activities requiring the resident or group to apply certain skills such as non-verbal communications, assertiveness, problem solving, creative thinking, leadership, responsibility, attitude, confidence, and teamwork.
Center for Hope recognizes that building connections to animals can play an important role in the reconnection to the self and others. During this outdoor experience, participants interact with animals, nature, and each other in ways that have an incredible impact on the individual and the group. This unique experience helps participants to become more grounded in the importance and values of their lives and the meaning of their recovery process.

Center for Hope is proud to partner with Nevada Equine Assisted Therapy (NEAT). For more information about NEAT please visit Nevada Equine Assisted Therapy's website.
Culinary Experience
Another unique piece of Center for Hope’s treatment process is the hands-on culinary experience. As part of this program, individuals are involved in weekly cooking classes, individualized hands-on meal planning and preparation, and exposure to a variety of food challenges and experiences that build basic skills and awareness. Nutritional and culinary activities also include restaurant outings, educational food shopping, nutrition education, and meal preparation groups to provide our clients with the tools necessary for long-term recovery.
Additional Unique Offerings
Residents participate in meditative walking, yoga, and massage while at Center for Hope. These treatment methods are designed to encourage self-care, self-respect, and an appreciation for the role of a gentle and mindful lifestyle.
